Getting Old

Thu Jun 25, 2009, 9:51 PM
David Carradine, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson... all the icons of my youth are dying off.

It's a strange feeling, as well as being a little sad.

  • Playing: Warcraft on Duskwood
  • Eating: chili

I'm with you, man... getting old while your world fades away around you truly sucks.

Wait-Farrah And Michael Jackson weren't really "peak" popular at the same time, and when they were, Jackson was a kid. That, with the Carradine thing just makes it a confusing point as to your age. Plus, Jackson was a sudden/early death. I get the point of sadness, but the good thing that can come of it, is reminding you that every day really does count. Make the most of it. No ones here for ever, and enjoy the time you get.

Kung-Fu was popular in the late 70's, as was Farrah and Michael Jackson. The Jackson 5 was a Saturday morning cartoon during the 70's and Michael Jackson had several hit singles during that time. Farrah continued to be relevant into the 80's with movies such as "Extremity" and "Burning Bed", Jackson of course exploded in the 80's and Carradine was still bumping around in the 80's with bits in popular cult movies et.

If you were a kid in the 70's and a teen in the 80's you were quite conscious of all 3 of them, trust me. ;)
