The Last Time I Saw Her by Zedul The Last Time I Saw Her by Zedul
Why is this a spontaneous portrait? Because it is...

Anna and I had finished our 16th shoot and we were deep in conversation. I was sitting on the chair I had been shooting over about an hour earlier, and she was sitting at my feet. She was thinking of moving back to Washington State (where we are both from) and that we needed to get in a few more shoots asap. For this one moment I saw this look on her face and I said "hold it" and I just picked up my camera which was under my chair and snapped a shot.

Little did I know it was the last picture I would ever take of Anna. I got busy that month and within 3 weeks she was gone. Over a year has passed now... and it makes me a little sad.

The best thing about this business for me was always the people, the friendships I forged. The deep conversations you have when it's about more than T&A.

I listened closely through the years, and I learned a lot about women.

All of life is a little bittersweet...

How are you? Have not seen you around in some time.

That is a true statement if ever I saw one

I've been well, just very busy! I graduated college, moved, got married (on June 18th), and have gotten a new puppy! All since December :faint: How have you been?

It's an epic fantasy... though it is set in a more Victorian style era than the traditional "pre-medieval" settings of most fantasy.

shadows? it looks good to me, sir. There is just enough light on her eye to bring out the color. I like this very much.
There you go with hang up my lens crap again.I've been enjoying your increased posting of late.

Is it my best picture? Not really, I am blocking the light, you can see my shadow on her face... totally the wrong angle for the photo, but it means a lot to me for the above reasons.

Now this is delightful. Without the text above you wouldn't really understand what to see in this capture. My thinking is, that shots like this one are one in a million and you get only one chance in life to capture it. Of course there may be many others, but not this one - as it depends all on the moment. And you captured the moment... My compliments!

Nah... there may be a few "one in a million shots". Just think about how many "clicks" you did with your cam until now. What makes such a shot? As you mention in your text above... Little did you know that it would be the last capture of her you take. That makes it unique. And, please, for that you are blocking the light, for a spontanious shot... Thumbs way up!
