Why is this a spontaneous portrait? Because it is...
Anna and I had finished our 16th shoot and we were deep in conversation. I was sitting on the chair I had been shooting over about an hour earlier, and she was sitting at my feet. She was thinking of moving back to Washington State (where we are both from) and that we needed to get in a few more shoots asap. For this one moment I saw this look on her face and I said "hold it" and I just picked up my camera which was under my chair and snapped a shot.
Little did I know it was the last picture I would ever take of Anna. I got busy that month and within 3 weeks she was gone. Over a year has passed now... and it makes me a little sad.
The best thing about this business for me was always the people, the friendships I forged. The deep conversations you have when it's about more than T&A.
I listened closely through the years, and I learned a lot about women.
I've been well, just very busy! I graduated college, moved, got married (on June 18th), and have gotten a new puppy! All since December How have you been?
How are you? Have not seen you around in some time.

Me, well, I have been working on my novel. About 500 pages in.
I didn't know you were writing a novel, 500 pages is awesome! What's it about?
