Going through the images of this particular woman - not an easy task. One day I am going to tell the story, but the wound is still a bit fresh.

When you let people into your life, you always run a certain risk - especially with new friends. They might clobber you when you least expect it. You always say "oops, why didn't I see that coming?" But none of us are immune to getting charmed or played. The only true test of friendship, is time.

Right you are. I just went through something I could reference as you have, only a few months ago.
The investments we make in others can be unfortunate in the end, but to heal, we must make investments in ourselves.

Just keep working at what you love to do.

Excellent shot!,

and in my experience it is sometimes harder to lose a friend than to lose family, but that is all circumstantial

I feel like you mentioned a falling out with a model before, though I assume that was a different one. Is it common for photographers to be so emotionally involved with their models? I would think a little professional detachment would be called for, but then again, they are naked. There's some intimacy there whether you like it or not. PS, really love your work.

Not generally... I mean, hundreds of models are one and done and out the door and you never even remember shooting with them! But when you work with someone over the course of years... of course a relationship develops. You would not work with someone that often if you did not become friends.
